Information
Château de Plaisance specialises in dry Chenins, delivering a perfectly spontaneous expression of the grapes in each of their wines. Château de Plaisance, certified organic for 30 years and more recently awarded its biodynamic label, makes every effort to avoid altering the natural intensity of the grapes. This cuvée, consisting entirely of Chenin, meets this call. Originating from a plot shared with another estate, as implied by the double-z alliteration in its name, the vines grow on the eastern slopes of the estate, on a steep slope rich in sandstone schist.
The juices are vinified in their entirety and aged in barrels for a full year. True to its Anjou appellation, this wine boasts an intensely yellow colour with golden reflections, but also a surprisingly fine texture, rarely found in this region. The palate opens with luscious notes of vanilla and tropical fruit, heralding an extremely smooth palate. Barrel vinification adds to the range of flavours found in this wine, with light toasted notes on the finish.
