Information
In 2006, Neil McGeoch bought Lochlea Farm in Ayrshire, which had been owned by the family of Scottish poet Robert Burns in the 19th century. In 2015, McGeoch began growing barley there. The distillery’s construction began in 2017 and was completed the following year, but the project remained on a very small scale. Malcolm Rennie, formerly of Ardbeg, Kilchoman and Bruichladdich, was put in charge of the distillery and te first Lochlea single malt was released at the start of 2022.
Lochlea Fallow is part of a series of four bottlings, Sowing, Harvest, Fallow and Ploughing. Fallow was matured in Oloroso casks. A limited edition of 9,000 bottles.
