Information
Built in 1966 by Invergordon Distillers to meet increasing demand, Tamnavulin is located near the River Livet. As is to be expected, its production was at the time used for the blends of the group, which owned other distilleries, including Bruichladdich and Jura. In 1995, following a decade of overproduction and two years after Invergordon was bought by Whyte & Mackay, the distillery ceased production, only starting up again in 2007. Tamnavulin now has its own range of single malts.
Tamnavulin 12 Year Old was introduced in the 1990s and was at the time the distillery’’s only official edition. It was discontinued in 2014 and replaced by a new range in 2016.
