Information
The world-famous Chardonnay grape variety did not appear in Burgundy until the twentieth century. Before that, only Pinot Blanc and Beurrot, which stands for Pinot Gris, were used. The bright, golden grape is meticulously nurtured by Bernard Van Berg, who wants to reconcile Burgundy’s greatest wine lovers with the Bourgogne Grand Ordinaire appellation. Once renowned for its everyday wines, the appellation now produces red, rosé and white wines from all over Burgundy. In addition to adopting natural, organic viticulture methods, the winemaker also limits intervention to a minimum during the vinification process.
The luminous golden colour reveals a bewitching bouquet brimming with expressive small yellow fruit aromas combined with subtle hints of almond and walnut. Generous and fresh on the palate, the exotic fruit flavours are perfectly balanced with hints of vanilla, leading to an incredibly long finish.
