The Paraíso distillery was founded in Sancti Spiritus, Cuba in 1946, a few years before the Cuban Revolution. Little is known about its history and it mainly produces neutral spirit for export. Rum is produced only as a secondary activity. Releases are only found among independent bottlers, often under the name Sancti Spiritus.

A Sancti Spiritus 18 year old Cuban rum distilled in 1998 and bottled in 2016 by The Whisky Agency for La Maison du Whisky. The Whisky Agency is a German independent bottler founded by Carsten Ehrlich, who is also behind the Limburg Whisky Fair. The Whisky Agency has bottled many high-flying single casks for various collections, including Liquid sun, The Perfect Dram, Private Stock and Liquid Library, often in collaboration with other players in the world of spirits.
