Information
Jean de Valon, Abbot Commander of the Order of Malta, appointed Brother Matthieu Bossuet to the parish of Saint-Jean de Pomerol in April 1514. This pious man, with his reputation for honesty and virtue, enjoyed spending time in a charming vineyard reading his breviary in peace and quiet and reciting the litanies of the Holy Virgin Mary and the saints. It was therefore only natural that the winegrowers decided to name this beautiful spot Clos des Litanies, as a tribute to the priest they greatly admired.
The deep red colour of this nectar reveals a delicate, elegant and complex nose, brimming with subtle red fruit aromas. Concentrated and intense on the palate, it reveals well-presented tannins that blend beautifully with the aromas of the nose, while gently leading to a long, flavoursome finish. This cuvée can be enjoyed while young or after several years of cellaring.
