Information
Since 1958, the Bertani estate has been producing Amarone Classico, the fruit of a perfect balance between nature, winemaker and time. The Corvina Veronese and Rondinella vines are located at the heart of Valpolicella, in the Novare estate in Negrar. This is where they climb on limestone and marl soils, exclusively reserved for the production of Amarone, which provide them with all the nutrients they need to thrive. After the grapes are hand-picked in September, 80% Corvina Veronese and 20% Rondinella are carefully vinified and blended together. Once careful destemmed and crushed, the fruit macerates for around twenty days before fermenting in cement vats for a month. The cuvée is then aged in Slavonian oak casks for six years before being aged for a further year once bottled.
The intense red colour graced with garnet tints is complemented by an expressive nose of plum, cherry and morello cherry aromas combined with subtle hints of liquorice and spices. The palate reveals a perfect balance between fine acidity and well-developed tannins, mingling with delicate flavours of red berries and vanilla.
