Information
The Château Gombaude Guillot is managed with talent by Claire Laval. The 7 hectares of the domain are now cultivated in organic farming. With a majority of Merlot (80%), completed by Cabernet Franc, the property produces beautiful classic Pomerols to follow carefully in great vintages.
The estate applies organic methods in both the vineyards and the winery, combining them with a natural approach to craft an authentic cuvée, meticulously blended from Merlot and Malbec grapes. The hand-picked grapes are vinified with no added sulphur, resulting in an even more natural wine. Native yeasts trigger the alcoholic fermentation process and the grapes are left in vats for around three weeks. Malolactic fermentation is conducted in temperature-controlled concrete vats. The cuvée is then matured in amphorae before being bottled for drinking.
The intense, bright red colour reveals an expressive nose, offering rich aromas of fresh fruit together with subtle hints of toasted almonds. The silky, fruity palate affirms the delicate aromas of the nose while building to a fresh, flavoursome finish.
