Information
The discrete domain Robert Sirugue spans 10 hectares of vines in the Bourgogne Rouge appellation. He owns vines in some excellent crus, including Romanée-Conti, Vosne-Romanée and Richebourg. One wine stands out: Grands Echezeaux, from a 0.13-hectare parcel.
The Pinot Noir grapes, nestled midway between Dijon and Beaune, enjoy the benefits of environmentally friendly and balanced viticulture practices. Each parcel is nurtured with the same care following traditional methods. The estate has been producing terroir-driven wines for five generations, brilliantly reflecting the character and personality of this exceptional region. In the vineyard, the grapes are exclusively hand-picked. Once the grapes have been meticulously sorted and destemmed, they undergo traditional vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. The cuvée is then aged in oak casks for 15 months before being bottled.
The intense red colour reveals an expressive nose combining aromas of ripe and cooked fruit mingling with subtle hints of spice. The ample and elegant palate is complemented by silky tannins leading to an incredibly long finish.
