Information
Created in 1838, the iconic brand first originated when James Chivas, the partner of an Aberdeen grocery store, began selling his first whisky blends. The boom in the production of grain whisky would enable the newly found Chivas Brothers company to release a huge number of successful blended whiskies in Europe and the United States. After being bought by Seagram - also the owner of the Strathisla distillery, which would become a base malt in the blends - and then by Pernod Ricard, the brand is today internationally renowned and offers a very wide range of whiskies, from entry-level bottlings to luxury whiskies.
A limited edition of Chivas Royal Salute, Chivas Hundred Cask Selection is a blend of whiskies, some of which have been matured for as long as 40 years. 25,926 bottles of this second edition were released.
