About the producer
Long John is a blend named after Ben Nevis’‘ founder (1825) Long John Macdonald, a reformed bootlegger. The brand was sold to the London merchant W. H. Chaplin in the early 20th century. It was then sold on various times, until coming into the hands of its current owner, Pernod Ricard, in 2005. It’‘s no surprise that Ben Nevis played a key role in the Long John for many years, but today this role falls to Tormore. Long John is said to include 48 different malts. Its leading market is France.
