Information
About the producer

Martell is one of the oldest Cognac houses, founded in 1715 by Jean Martell. It is now part of the Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouet branch of the French group Pernod Ricard. This house has contributed greatly to cognac's global renown, exporting it early on to the UK and Asia. It produces a wide range of cognacs, all well reputed.

About the wine

Cordon Bleu is a cognac launched by Martell in 1912. It would become a testament of important historic events, such as the signing of the Treaty of Versailles between Germany and the Allies on 28 June 1919. It was served at the launch of the Queen Mary in 1936 and Concorde’’s first flight in 1977. It is composed primarily of cognac from Grande and Petite Champagne, the Borderies and Fins Bois. We estimate this bottle to be from the 1960s.
