Information
Domaine Rapet Père et Fils, is a very old family domaine in Pernand-Vergelesses (confirmed by an engraved 1765 tastevin). The vineyard extends over 20 hectares, spread between Pernand-Vergelesses, Savigny-les-Beaune, Chorey-les-Beaune, Aloxe-Corton and Beaune. It is managed in a sustainable and responsible manner to minimise phytosanitary treatments. The wines are of a modern style and express the typical nature of their terroir well; they are all the more interesting as prices remain reasonable.
Domaine Rapet Père et Fils is a one of the greatest estates that can be found in less well-known appellations or appellations neglected by wine lovers. Yet, Pernand-Vergelesses, the home of this great estate, produces exquisite wines that all wine lovers should have tasted at least once in their lives. If further proof were needed, the wines produced by this magnificent estate, with a well-thought-out approach to the wine, vines and cellar, highlight the balanced terroir without resorting to artificial methods.
This includes this Beaune Premier Cru Clos du Roi where the vines were completely replanted in 1985 after a frost damaged them.
Situated at the heart of Beaune, this climat is one of the most reliable, and resembles many of the neighbouring Corton Clos du Roi wines which are a distant cousin with their majestic, intense and luxurious flavours. Here is a superb 100% Pinot Noir wine that highlights the excellence of Beaune wines and this family estate.
