Information
The distillery enjoys a worldwide reputation for crafting excellent tasting whiskies thanks to a unique and traditional expertise passed down from one generation to the next for over 200 years. Founded in 1881, the distillery is unique in that it was created with the aim of producing high-concentration spirits. Nestling on the north-east coast of Islay in Scotland, it goes by the name of Cladach, which means ‘the shore’ in Gaelic. The distillery continually strives for perfection. Its objective is to produce premium quality whiskies that reflect its core values of craftsmanship, tradition, heritage and, above all, passion. It is in this harmonious, peaceful setting that the distillery produces its smooth, peaty spirits. The whiskies also have the particularity of having a few saline notes as a result of the distillery’s proximity to the sea.
Caldach is a blended malt released in 2018. It features whiskies from Diageo’’s six coastal distilleries Caol Ila, Clynelish, Lagavulin, Oban, Inchgower and Talisker. This bottling is part of Diageo’’s Special Releases, a range released annually that highlights some of the finest whiskies of the group’’s open and closed distilleries.
