About the producer

House of Lords is a brand of blended Scotch originally created by William Whiteley and later bought by Campbell Distillers (a subsidiary of Pernod Ricard). For a long time produced exclusively for export due to complaints surrounding the brand’‘s use of the name House of Lords, it only became available in the domestic market in 1996. The brand was especially popular in North America during Prohibition, where it was imported illegally by Whiteley’‘s partner (and renowned mafia boss) Frank Costello.

About the wine

A bottle of the House of Lords blend from the 1970s, when the brand was owned by William Whiteley. At the time, House of Lords was the group’’s leading blend, alongside King’’s Ransom. It was only available for export until 1996 due to use of the name House of Lords.
