About the producer
Originally known as Kilnflat, this distillery was renamed by Charles Kay in 1871. It was then bought by Hiram Walker, who used almost all of the malt for the Ballantine's blended whisky. For this reason, most Glenburgie single malts are only available as independent bottlings.
About the wine
A Glenburgie 5 year old from the 1970s, a period in which it was owned by Hiram Walker. An Italian import from Soffiantino. As with many bottlings from other Speyside distilleries, some Glenburgie bottlings from this period use the Glenlivet suffix.
