Information
About the producer

Ardmore was founded in Aberdeenshire in 1889 by Adam Teacher, son of William Teacher. The distillery is surrounded by rivers, peat bogs and barley fields. In 1976, the distillery became part of the Allied Distillers group and then part of Beam in 2006 (Beam Suntory since 2014). It was one of the last distilleries to use direct-fired stills up until 2001 and one of very few Highland distilleries to produce a peated whisky. Although the whisky has always been used for the Teachers blend rather than being sold as a single malt, independent bottlings are very popular among enthusiasts, who are particularly fond of Ardmore’‘s unique style.

About the wine

A malt whisky from the Ardmore distillery, bottled for a Scottish TV programme named Scotland the What, broadcast from 1969 to 1995.
