Famously the oldest distillery in Inverness (founded in 1807), Millburn was owned by Haig, Booth, then DCL, who closed it in 1985.

A Millburn distilled in 1974 and bottled in 2000 by Scottish independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail for the famous Connoisseurs Choice series. Connoisseurs Choice was one of Gordon & MacPhail's spearhead ranges. Created for the Italian collector and importer Edoardo Giaccone in the early 1970s, it entered the standard collection in 1979 and has been part of it ever since, although it has undergone many changes, from the map labels to its gradient labels and finally the design found today. Although diluted to the minimum degree permitted and coloured artificially, these old editions are vibrant reflections of the whiskies of the past.
