Information
Domaine des Lambrays is located on the Côte de Nuits in Morey Saint-Denis. It was bought by the LVMH group in 2014. It owes its name to the famous Grand Cru Clos des Lambrays which it owns as a virtual monopole. Besides the Clos des Lambray, the domaine produces stunning Morey-Saint-Denis as well as white wines in Puligny-Montrachet, bringing the total area of the vineyard to 11 hectares. Yield is low (28hl / ha), harvests are done by hand and aging takes places over eighteen months in 50% new oak barriques. The entire range is exceptional. In comparison with the Burgundian elite, prices remain reasonable. But the domaine’s reputation continues to grow worldwide.
Whilst Domaine des Lambrays is very well-reputed, its wines are extremely rare. Located in the Côte de Nuits, Morey-Saint-Denis, the domain here proposes a rosé, not often seen in Burgundy. It has a pretty pink colour that makes way for a flavourful bouquet. There are notes of fleshy fruit, flowers, and hints of pepper. Lively and juicy, it can be enjoyed straight away or even aged for a few years in the cellar. It works well served on its own, though it will pair nicely with summery dishes like salad, stuffed tomatoes, or grilled meat.
