About the producer
Internationally renowned for its whisky Vat 69, initially bottled in port bottles, William Sanderson & Sons was founded in Leith in 1863. It helped create the North British distillery to prevent Diageo’s predecessor DCL from gaining a monopoly on the distillation of grain whisky in Scotland. It also owned the Glen Garioch distillery, used at the time as a base malt in its blends.
About the wine
A blended scotch bottled with no age statement in the 1980s (1978-1991) by the blending company William Sanderson & Sons Ltd for the Italian market, imported by SILVER. Bottle equipped with a black and red screw top and Italian tax strip.
