Located in the far north-east Highlands in the town of Wick, Pulteney achieved international renown with its classic 12 Year Old bourbon cask. It was bought by the Inver House Distillers group in 1995, who, to mark the new millennium, released a series of 15 year old cask strength 1982 single casks in the Millennium Single Cask range. The series has since inspired others and, for those brave enough to travel to Wick, the distillery offers the personalized range “Hand Bottled at the Distillery”, opening Old Pulteney up to the world of collectors.
A single malt from the far north-east of Scotland, distilled at the Pulteney distillery and aged for at least 12 years. Possibly bottled in 2003 (laser code 3 10:14 L0325BB) under the impetus of the Inver House group, who owned the distillery from 1995. At the time, Pulteney was nicknamed the “Manzanilla of the North” due to its marked salty and iodine character. This bottle design, introduced in the late 1990s, underwent numerous changes and disappeared in around 2007. Bottle equipped with a cork stopper and stamped black foil seal.
