Information
United States, Tennessee, Lynchburg. Distillery operational. Owner: Brown FormanIt is somewhat ironic that Jack Daniel's, one of the most famous distilleries in the world, is located in the heart of Tennessee in the Moore county, the same area that voted in favour of Prohibition in 1909. When the law was repealed in 1933, the Motlow family, who owned the the distillery at the time, had to fight for another five years for the distillery to be allowed to distil again. Despite the law being relaxed in 1995, it still remains a “dry county” to this day. Jack Daniel's is a model of stability. It remained in the family fold until 1956, before being bought by the Brown family, owner of the Brown-Forman company, who not only kept the Motlows (parents of the Daniel family) at the helm, but also made them part of the company's board of directors. Jack Daniel's is one of the most highly collected whiskeys due to its magnificent limited editions and the Replicas regularly released on the market.
A Tennessee whiskey produced at the Jack Daniel distillery, bottled in the late 1990s for the French importer Bacardi-Martini. This version celebrates the gold medal awarded to the distillery in 1913 at the Ghent salon in Belgium. Bottle equipped with a cork stopper and transparent foil seal.
