Information
Built in 1966 by Invergordon Distillers to meet increasing demand, Tamnavulin is located near the River Livet. As is to be expected, its production was at the time used for the blends of the group, which owned other distilleries, including Bruichladdich and Jura. In 1995, following a decade of overproduction and two years after Invergordon was bought by Whyte & Mackay, the distillery ceased production, only starting up again in 2007. Tamnavulin now has its own range of single malts.
A Speyside single malt distilled at the Tamnavulin distillery in 1967 and bottled in the late 1970s by the owners at the time, the Invergordon Distillers group, for the Italian market, Sival Import. Note that the distillery was built between 1965 and 1966. This vintage has become extremely rare and reflects the first 12-24 months of distillation at Tamnavulin. Bottle equipped with a screw cap, black and gold foil seal and Italian tax strip.Other versions were also available in this range at the time, including a no-age statement, an 8 year old and a 1970 vintage.
