Information
Situated in the heart of the Côte de Beaune and spread over three villages (Savigny-Lès-Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses and Aloxe-Corton), this domain was bought in 1834 by Countess Chandon de Briailles who was related to the owners of the famous Champagne house Moët et Chandon.
It has been belonged to the same family ever since who have converted the entirety of it to biodynamic agriculture. The wines are aged in wood with the smallest amount of new wood. It is currently owned by the Count and Countess Aymard-Claude de Nicolaÿ and their children. Since 2001, Claude and François have run the estate together. Claude is a trained oenologist and François works in the vineyards and manages the sales.
Th wines are crafted using natural methods with no sulphur being using on the vines and only homeopathic doses are used in the winemaking process depending on the vintage. Vinification is aided by gravity, and the skins are punched down daily, and the wine is aged in wood. The result? Dazzling, deep, complex wines that are completely delicate, refined and highly seductive with a silky palate. They faithfully represent the uniqueness of each terroir and vintage.
