Maranges David Moreau
Information
About the wine

David Moreau cultivates three little parcels in Maranges over a total surface area of 0.55 hectares. One is rich in clay, one in sand, and the last one in clay and chalk. These soils complement each other, allowing the wine maker to achieve balance in his wines. The vines are grown sustainably with the grapes harvested by hand. There is a meticulous sorting process before destemming. The juice ferments with the help of indigenous yeasts. The length of the maturation depends on the vintage but invariably takes place in Burgundian casks (228 litres). This is a generous wine with aromas of fresh fruit, raspberry and cherry. On the palate we get some lovely volume alongside remarkably supple tannins. Keeping this cuvée for around 10 years will only improve it.
