About the producer

Nature’s alchemy in a glass offering a Provençal journey with each sip. For lovers of age-worthy wines, Domaine de Terrebrune offers something rare: reds, whites and rosés of striking minerality and saline precision, almost crystalline in their expression. A fine work of art.
Acquired in 1968, Terrebrune lies at the south-eastern edge of the Bandol appellation, in the commune of Ollioules in Provence. Here, at the heart of this 35-hectare vineyard, a philosophy of respect and harmony with nature is implemented daily. Naturally, the vines are organically cultivated in full accordance with certified methods. They thrive in a mosaic of marl, clay and limestone soils, imparting the wines with an unmistakable distinct character. The reds carry a vivid freshness that lifts and balances the iconic strength of southern wines. As for the whites and rosés, these are cuvées crafted to age gracefully, evolving even up to a decade.
Founded by Georges Delille, who passed away in 2021, the estate is now in the hands of his son Reynald, who co-owns it alongside Jean d’Arthuy. Every year, almost 120,000 bottles are produced under the capable hands of Jean d’Arthuys, with wines made from Grenache noir, Cinsault, and Mourvèdre in red, and Marsanne, Rolle, Ugni blanc, Bourboulenc, and Clairette in white.

About the wine

Created in the 1960s by Georges Delille, this Bandol estate located in Ollioules, an isolated village near Toulon, creates exceptional wines. It sits on marl, clay and limestone soils dating back to the Triassic period, unique for the region. The property’s styles differ greatly from others in the region and play on the powerful side of Mourvèdre and the Provençal sun helps create wines that are sometimes eccentric and opulent.
This rosé is a true giant! Probably one of the most beautiful French rosés, it is capable of improving after a decade. Composed of Mourvèdre, Grenache and Cinsault, it releases fresh fruit, herbaceous and stone-like notes. Its remarkably classy palate and exemplary tautness could cause it to be confused with a white or red wine when tasting it blind. But more withdrawn in its youth, ageing it for ten years will allow it to blossom and transform into a fine wine. And the results are magnificent with the wine revealing spiced, chocolate and phenomenal fruit aromas. The persistent on the palate is incredible and we have to admit that we have a soft spot for the splendid 2008 vintage. An extremely fine wine.
