Information
Domaine Luneau-Papin, lies in the Muscadet region, 20 km from Nantes, in the south of the Loire. The property extends over 40 hectares and is managed by Pierre and Monique Luneau who were joined by their son Pierre-Marie in 2005, representing the ninth generation of winemakers. Every parcel here is harvested by hand and vinified and matured individually to allow each terroir to express itself. The vineyards are planted exclusively with Melon de Bougogne. Today, the domain is so successful that more than half of its wines are exported overseas.
The Melon de Bourgogne vines used for this cuvée are planted on a schist terroir with south-easterly exposure. The harvests are carried out by hand to avoid damaging the grapes. The grape musts are only moved by gravity to avoid over exposure to oxygen. The wine is matured on lees for 7 months in order to become more rich and supple. The result is wonderfully elegant with a perfectly-mastered acidity. Have a go at an adventurous food pairing such as a salmon crumble or just serve with some fresh cheese.
