Information
Having been present in the Mesnil-sur-Oger region for 7 generations, the Gonet family produces particularly mineral champagnes which reflect the terroir from which they are produced. The domain spans 19 hectares, with two thirds of Chardonnay and one third of Pinot Noir. Today, Pierre Gonet manages the domain and Chantal Brégeon Gonet supervises the commercial and export side of things.
The TER cuvée is a blend of three of the domain’s terroirs. Two grands crus: Hauttes Mottes in Mesnul-sur-Oger and Vozémieux in Oger and one premier cru from the Montagne de Reims, Les Corrigniers. Pierre Gonet vinifies his Champagnes in 60hectolitre oak barrels, bringing depth and complexity. Malolactic fermentation is blocked, so as to preserve the freshness of the Chardonnay. The result is chiselled and precise. A lovely tension lasts throughout the tasting, into a saline finish.
