Clos de l'Oratoire Grand Cru Classé
Information
About the producer

Purchased in 1991 by Stéphan Von Neipperg, who also owns Mondotte and Canon de la Gaffelière, the vineyard at Clos de l'Oratoire is planted in a clay-limestone soil at the top of the slopes and clay-sand at the bottom. The vines have an average age of 35 years. After manual harvesting, the grapes are double-sorted, before and after destemming. The wines are aged for 15 to 20 months, depending on the vintage, in 80% to 100% new barrels.

About the wine

On tasting, the wine has a dark colour and a ripe, fruity, slightly woody bouquet. Medium-bodied, it is powerful, fresh and seductive. Due to its formidable concentration and impressive tannic structure, this wine should be kept at least seven years before drinking.
