Based in Meursault, winemaker Arnaud Ente is one of the rising stars of Burgundy. While he is better known for his white wines, this ‘simple’ Bourgogne Pinot Noir is nevertheless not to be missed. The vines of Pinot Noir are truly pampered; Arnaud Ente tends his four hectares of vines as one would a garden with the help of his wife Marie-Odile. In the winery too, everything is done as artisanally as possible. On the nose, you’ll find notes of ripe red fruits as well as a lightly animal element. On the palate, the wine offers incredible energy, complexity and impressive precision. The tannins are fine and the finish extremely long. This Pinot Noir is direct without concession. What’s more, the limited production at this domain have made Arnaud Ente’s releases some of the most sought-after in all of Burgundy. Pair this Pinot Noir with game, veal or poultry in sauce.
