Information
Domaine Charles Noëllat had ideally located plots in Vosne, especially the grand cru Richebourg. The domaine was bought in 1988 by Lalou Bize-Leroy to become the future Domaine Leroy. Today, collectors eagerly grasp the few remaining bottles.
A true rarity, this Clos de Vougeot inspires wine lovers around the world. Domaine Charles Noëllat stopped producing quite some ago and some of the parcels have been purchased by Domaine Leroy, represented by the renowned Lalou Bize-Leroy.
You can imagine how much this bottle has evolved since it was crafted. From an appellation that predestined it to a certain ageing period, this wine now reveals a ruby colour with a crimson undertone. Its aromatic bouquet has developed well, sublimely blending notes of red and black fruit with violet, pepper, leather, earth, and mushroom. Its palate balances delicacy and depth. Structured by delicate but expressive tannins, this wine will serve well at an ambient temperature with characterful dishes. Pairings like game in sauce, regional cheese, or a pumpkin gratin would be delicious.
