Information
This family domaine has very beautiful parcels of land in the village of Gevrey in particular, with the premier cru Lavaux Saint-Jacques, and grand crus, Mazis, Charmes and Chambertin. The domaine’s wines are powerful and require a few years aging to reveal their full potential.
Mainly thanks to the beautiful Gevrey village parcels they own, Domaine Camus Père et Fils has crafted a well-made Chambertin that requires a few years of ageing to reveal its full potential. The Pinot noir that makes up this cuvée was grown in an ideal spot, on a slope 300 metres high.
In the glass this wine has an intensely ruby-red colour. Its nose gives us a flavour of the cuvée’s noble profile. We find racy, elegant notes like red fruits (redcurrant, cherry), black fruits (blackcurrant), and flowers (violet, dried rose, jasmine) which in time develop towards earthy notes of mushroom, leather, and musk. The palate delivers a fine, deep texture. Long-lasting on the palate, it will pair nicely with dishes such as meat, game in sauce, mushroom, and truffle. We recommend ageing this bottle at length in the cellar and opening it at least ten years after its vintage year. The best vintages can be kept for up to fifty years!
