Information
Domaine Tortochot is a family domain located in Gevrey. A lover of Burgundy wine, Gabriel Tortochot ardently defends the region, especially given his role as the president of Gevrey-Chambertin's viticultural union. He passed down this passion to his two daughters, Brigitte and Chantal. At the age of 35, Chantal decided to take over the family business. Having qualified as an enological technician, she now produces wines that reflect their terroir thanks to careful viticulture.
The Mazis-Chambertin from Domaine Tortochot is from an excellent soil rich in marl and limestone. The domain possesses around 4,200 square metres on this appellation, one of the Gevrey-Chambertin village’s nine grands crus. To craft it, the domain carries out an 18month maturation in new, oak casks that confer both structure and character. After around 10 years of ageing, this cuvée has a powerful profile with velvety tannins. Its aromatic bouquet delights with its notes of red and black fruit, musk, and earth. Fans of red meat will, no doubt, enjoy pairings with game or lamb. Alternatively you could try it with Brie-type cheeses.
