Information
In the Vietti family since the 19th century, four generations have successfully brought their estate to top of its game in Piedmont. Alfredo Currado's innovation has attracted fans from all over the world. While the trend of standardization of wines was peaking, the Vietti estate seized a golden opportunity to stand out from the crowd by offering very distinctive wines, single-parcel cuvées, and a white wine made from arnéis, an indigenous white grape that had fallen into obscurity.
Today, the Vietti estate is managed by Alfredo and Luciana Currado's son Luca and his wife Elena. They aim to further the Langhe and Alba terroirs to the best of their ability through meticulous and hard work.
Check out their beautiful wines, the Barbaresco or Barolo will do wonders after decanting or few years in your cellar.
Leather, tobacco, peppery spices, dark fruits and floral fragrances. All of these words can be used to describe he nose of this rich cuvée. On the palate this is a classic Barolo, powerful and concentrated with intense tannins due to a 4-week fermentation in contact with the grape skins. This 100% Nebbiolo comes from a single terroir called Ravera in Novello. The vines are around 27 years old and planted in clay-chalk soil. Before and after fermenting, the grapes are place in stainless steel containers for maceration. After a year-long maturation on fine lees, the wine is matured in Slovenian oak barrels for around 30 months. We recommend serving this wine alongside a meat dish with sauce in order to fully appreciate it.
