Information
Domaine Luneau-Papin, lies in the Muscadet region, 20 km from Nantes, in the south of the Loire. The property extends over 40 hectares and is managed by Pierre and Monique Luneau who were joined by their son Pierre-Marie in 2005, representing the ninth generation of winemakers. Every parcel here is harvested by hand and vinified and matured individually to allow each terroir to express itself. The vineyards are planted exclusively with Melon de Bougogne. Today, the domain is so successful that more than half of its wines are exported overseas.
This cru takes its name from a blend of the Latin Gula (gullet) and the Gaullois Ana (fen), a name that inspired Atelier Bingo for the label design. The grape musts are moved only using gravity to avoid any alteration, and alcoholic fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts. The Gula Ana cuvée is then matured for 22 months on lees. This allows the wine to gain the depth and intensity later felt on the palate.
