Bourgueil Grand Mont Domaine du Bel Air
Information
About the producer

It was in 1995 when the owner Pierre Gauthier produced his first vintage in this domain of the Loire valley. Over time, he achieved a solid reputation thanks to his work and his profound wines. Today he is assisted by his son Rodolphe and both insist on applying methods which respect the environment.

About the wine

From 70-year-old vines grown organically on a clay-chalk terroir, this cuvée underwent a low-intervention vinification using indigenous yeasts. Matured in barrels and demi-muids for 24 months, it was then bottled without filtering. This Bourgueil is ruby red in colour and its bouquet is marked by fresh fruit, gentle spices and cedar. Persistent, it can be enjoyed after 8-10 years.
