Information
Giacomo Conterno is one of the most highly reputed domaines in Italy and Roberto Conterno is now at the helm of this vineyard established in the 1920s. The wine is produced organically, grapes are trodden by foot, indigenous yeasts are used for fermentation, pumping over is carried out frequently, and wines are aged in old barrels to give the wine character without overflavouring it. These wines are crafted for cellaring.
Vinified by one of the appellation’s emblematic domains, reputed for its traditional style, this Nebbiolo has undergone a long élevage in old casks. Made to be aged, it is characterised by its intense and wild bouquet. We perceive notes of sage, truffle and dried tomato. Its superb tannic structure is revealed in a ripe, dense and noble tone. Persistent, this earthy wine rounds off with notes of cacao.
