About the producer

Michel Gaunoux was an excellent winemaker, producing wines perfectly balanced between power and finesse. He fully destemmed his grapes and favoured long vatting periods. Following his death, his wife took over the domain.

About the wine

Reputed for its power, this premier cru Pommard can be opened a few hours before it is served. It is ruby red in colour and has a complex nose marked by notes of red and black fruits and sous-bois. Ample and dense, the palate carries a secondary complexity through notes of gentle spices such as cinnamon. A bit of ageing will allow the tannins to soften and become more supple. This is the ideal wine to accompany flavourful meat dishes.
