Information
François Mikulski created his domaine in Meursault with his wife Marie-Pierre in 1991. The vineyard consists of four plots of premier crus (Genevrières, Charmes, Poruzot and Goutte d''Or). Great attention is paid to the vineyards which are managed in an environmentally friendly way. Wines mature for 16 to 18 months in the barriques, of which rarely more than 20% are new. The whole range has great quality, offering depth, complexity and finesse.
This bottle has a distinctive appearance with its transparent label and chalkboard font. The vines used to produce this cuvée are planted entirely with Chardonnay across a 1.5-hectare surface area. Some were planted in 1986 and others in 2005. They are both at the edge of the famous Meursault appellation, hence this wine’s length on the palate and its fatty profile. The vines are grown organically, even if François and Marie-Pierre Mikulski haven’t gone to the lengths of converting their whole vineyard. The sub-soil contains river alluvium. This cuvée was matured in oak barrels for around 10 months. After maturation, it is racked and placed in vats for 2 months before bottling.
