Information
Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg was created in 1933 by Jeanne Gibourg and André Mugneret. Their son, Georges Mugneret, took over the domaine and expanded it. Marie-Christine and Marie-Andrée, the daughters of Georges and Jacqueline, now run it. The vineyards are distributed over the appellations of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny, Ruchottes-Chambertin and Clos Vougeot. The wines of this domaine have a very classic style and its quality has improved a lot in recent years. The cuvées can be presented under two labels, Georges Mugneret and Mugneret-Gibourg.
This Nuits-Saint-Georges has its roots in a deep and stony terroir. The vines are more than thirty years old and produce a wine with an intense ruby colour. The nose reveals notes of cherry and dried fruit, and the palate is perfectly balanced with a lingering finish. In time, the tannins gain a silky quality and will make a great pairing with meat and sauce.
