Information
Thibault Liger-Belair took over the family domaine of Nuits-Saint-Georges in 2002, giving it its name. The domaine has been in the family since the 18th century and the trading establishments C. Marey and Comte Liger-Belair have been in existence since 1720. The vineyard spreads over a little over 7 hectares in Richebourg, Vosne-Romanée, Clos-de- Vougeot, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Gevrey-Chambertin. The greatest care is taken of the vines which are worked organically. The wines have already reached a good standard and are one of the rising values of the region, offering wines which combine fine substance and finesse.
Thibault Liger-Belair is an iconic Côte de Nuits grower who has also acquired a number of parcels in Beaujolais, in the Moulin-à-Vent appellation. The grapes for this "La Rose" cuvée are grown in shallow soil on pink and white sand. The vines here were planted between 1920 and 1945. The limited yields lend this cuvée good concentration and a highly refined body. Ripe cherry aromas and a lace-fine palate elevate the wine as a whole.
