Information
Acquired by the Lihour family 1885, this 1é-hectare domain has not changed hands since. Five generations have succeeded, and now it's up to Franck Lihour who is taking more and more responsibility after his parents, Christian and Pierrette. Most of the vines here are grown in clay-rich soil and are treated with natural products like manure. Whether they are used for the dry or sweet wines, all of the grapes are harvested by hand in successive sorting sessions. During vinification, the producers aim to use as little sulphur as possible. Their philosophy has always been the same: to craft soulful wines. Known for their explosive ‘domain cuvées', they are also lauded for the single-parcel cuvées that have impressive intensity and depth.
Grown in a terroir composed of loam, clay, and chalk soils, the great Manseng which makes up this cuvée was slowly pressed and matured on fine lees in vats as well as other wooden containers. Perfectly balanced, fresh, and voluptuous, it’s the ideal wine to serve with a platter of charcuterie and cheese.
