Côte-Rôtie Carmina Pierre-Jean Villa
Information
About the producer

Located in the northern Rhône, the domain Pierre-Jean Villa is considered to be one of the most important in the region today. This winemaker gave his name to the business and can be found in Chavanay, the village of his birth, after having worked at Clos de Tart and collaborated with Pierre Gaillard, Yves Cuilleron and François Villard for the Vins de Vienne. He has been working by himself on the steep hills since 2008, intervening as little as possible. In the cellar, he also limits how much he intervenes with natural yeasts doing their work and the lunar calendar being followed. Matured for one or two years, the wines possess silky tannins and a juiciness that is almost voluptuous.
