Information
In the very east of the Loire, nestled between meadows and hills, domain Pellé makes wines in the Menetou-Salon appellation. Created in 1959, it lies on terroirs of marl, clay and Kimmeridgian limestone. The domain farms its vines sustainably, tilling the soils and keeping its yields low. Exemplary wines with impressive minerality.
There is no doubt that the local sand and flint terroir has a role to play in forming this wine's aromatic and flavour profile. This, combined with élevage in tuns and stainless steel tanks, plays its part in producing a sober, powerful, lively wine. We recommend laying this wine down in your cellar for a number of years, allowing it to gain extra complexity.
