Information
The champagne house André Robert has been managed by the same family for several generations. Bertrand Robert has managed the house with his wine Colette since 1981 and now, Claire Robert (fifth generation) is at the helm. The vineyard spans 14 hectares, for the most part grand and premier cru, with Chardonnay as the main grape. The domain has HEV (high environmental value) certification.
The Chardonnay in this cuvée is cultivated in the heart of the grand cru terroir of Mesnil-sur-Oger. It is vinified in 10-year-old barriques (228 litre) and matured on the lees, with regular bâtonnage, for ten months. Malolactic fermentation is avoided and the wine is bottle-aged on the lees for between six and eight years. The result is a full, generous and wonderfully persistent wine with a subtle creamy quality and brimming with exotic fruit notes.
