Nowadays wine enthusiasts can rarely boast of opening a bottle from Domaine Dervieux-Thaize. After retiring, the producer shared his vines and handed a portion down to his son-in-law René Rostaing, whose wines are now among the best in the appellation.

This Côte-Rôtie from the Côte Blonde terroir is an attractive ruby red with "plum" highlights. It is defined by its highly elegant palate, with its refined tannins for structure and acidity for length. The last vintage was produced in 1989 so enthusiasts who own such bottles are very fortunate indeed.
