Information
Domaine de la Roquète (previously spelt “Roquette”) belongs to the Brunier family, who also own the Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe, also in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. It was bought by the family in 1986 and is composed of 29 hectares in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape AOC, 7 hectares in the Côtes du Ventoux AOC and 3 hectares in Vin de Pays areas, on the shores of the Rhone. The vines were rigorously reconditioned after the purchase, and a modern winery was built in 1998. Dominated by Grenache, the wines can be drunk young and have a pure, direct style. For this appellation, these wines have a nice freshness.
This Châteauneuf-du-Pape is produced on a two-hectare eponymous lieu-dit. There, 20-year-old vines benefit from careful cultivation on sand and clay soils. The crop, harvested by hand, has been fermented in vats and barriques. The wine is then aged for seven months. On tasting, it reveals notes of apples and pears coated with a generous and well-rounded texture. You can therefore enjoy it with flavoursome dishes such as sauce-based poultry, stuffed mushrooms, risotto or oily fish.
