Frédéric and François Alary have been in charge of Domaine de l’Oratoire Daint-Martin since 1984 and represent the 10th generation of winemakers at the head of this vineyard! The great majority of this domaine is located to the north east of the Cairanne commune at around 200 metres altitude on a steep hill in an area known locally as “the mountain”. The domaine is certified biodynamic, yields are low and grapes are picked at optimum maturity. Elevage takes place in concrete vats, demi-muids or foudres. This producer is regarded as one of the best in Cairanne (along with domaine Richaud) and deserves its reputation as a reference!

Here there are 100-year-old Grenache and Mourvèdre vines, grown on clay and limestone soils following organic principles, which have been aged 18 for months in foudres. Extremely complex, this wine with a purple hue exudes an intense aromatic bouquet of red fruit, leather and musk. The palate is equally impressive and brilliantly combines a sunny depth and the freshness of the soil.
