Information
The Romano Dal Forno domaine in Veneto was established in 1983. It takes the least interventionist approach possible to vinifying its wines, and ages them in new barrels. The advice is therefore to taste these wines after protracted cellaring in order to allow the tannins to mellow.
An icon of the Italian vineyards, this domain produces a supremely classy Valpolicella. Its depth and intense bouquet of fruity, chocolatey notes perfectly complement a powerful, tannic, persistent mouthfeel. The domain vinifies this wine in steel tanks, followed by three years' élevage in oak barrels. The wine is then matured for two years in the bottle before going on sale.
