Information
Jean-Pierre Chevalier's parents (winegrowers for three generations) bought Château de Villeneuve in 1969. Vines have existed on the property since the 16th century. There are 16 hectares of Chenin and 20 hectares of Cabernet Franc planted on limestone bedrock. The châteaux of this region are built from this same material. The vineyard has organic certification and Jean-Pierre Chevallier run the estate, producing terroir driven wines with great purity and freshness. A reference of Saumur-Champigny.
This cuvée comes from one of the finest terroirs in Saumur. Vinified in large barrels of 12 hectolitres, this cuvée delivers aromas of white flowers and exotic fruits, citrus, and notes of wet stone. The mouth is well-rounded, mineral, refined and precise, with a burst of fruit. A superb white that will improve over time; enjoy with shellfish or scallops.
